Status Effects
Status effects are conditions inflicted by spells for a specific duration. They exist to prevent combat from being a damage race and allow for different gameplay strategies.
- Stunned: Afflicted unit skips action during X turns.
- Dancing: Afflicted unit skips action during X turns, taking damage from sources that aren't status effects instantly removes the condition.
- Confused: Afflicted unit attacks or casts a random spell on a random target during X turns (friend or foe).
- Poisoned: Afflicted unit takes X pure damage during X turns.
- Burning: Afflicted unit takes X fire damage during X turns.
- Shocked: All magical damage is amplified on the afflicted unit during X turns (something like 25% more damage, requires testing).
- Frozen: Afflicted unit deals less damage with attacks during X turns (something like -25% damage dealt, requires testing).
- Petrified: Afflicted unit skips action during X turns and becomes immune to physical damage.
- Taunted: Afflicted unit is forced to attack the unit who inflicts the status effect for X turns.
Status Resistance
The status effect resistance stat increases the chance a character has of resisting status effects.
In order to prevent the player from trivializing the game, there will an automatic buff that units (both player characters and enemies) will get after being Stunned. This buff will increase resistance to the Stuns for a few turns. This Buff is described with more detail on the Buffs and Debuffs page.
